The Alliance Defense Network, or ADN, is the largest defender alliance in NationStates, comprised of 35 member regions. Its motto is "With Strength and Honor". The ADN was founded by Vazquez and Mendanau (aka Phoenix currently enlisted in the United States Armed Forces).

Director: Pope Hope.
Deputy Director: Unistrut.
Secretary of Defense:Westwind.

The Alliance Defense Network states that its mission is to be devoted to the defense of its members, and to protect the freedom of natives of any region to live in peace and prosperity, free from invasions. The Alliance Defense Network states that it is both revered and reviled by the defender and invader, respectively; however, wherever one's partisanship may lie, it is a force of the NS world.
The ADN's true goals, however, are a matter of heated controversy. Some say they have repeatedly intervened in affairs where they were not wanted. The ADN has also consistently refused to recognize the People's Republic of The Pacific as the legitimate government of the Pacific, because the ADN deemed their rise to power unscrupulous. Because of this refusal to accept the New Pacific Order as a legitimate government, which is now the People's Republic of The Pacific, the USSR was forced into a trial to defend its alliance with the New Pacific Order in which the USSR was found guilty of treason for being allied with an undocumented public enemy of the ADN. The USSR-ADN Trial is still debated on. Since Pope Hope declared martial law, many have been feeling increasingly alienated by the ADN and several regions renounced their membership of the organization, including Greece and one of the largest non-feeder/sink member region, the Allied States of EuroIslanders. However since then several new regions have joined as well.
