Overview
Starblaydia are a relatively young nation in the Grand History of NationStates, having a population of nearly 2 Billion people.
The Protectorate of Starblaydia is a massive, economically powerful nation, notable for its complete absence of social welfare. It has a hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of around 2 billion people, being a relatively young nation in the Grand History of NationStates, though 18,000-somethingth largest in the world, by the last count.
It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt, pro-business government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Defence, and Education. Citizens pay a flat income tax of around 65%. A large private sector is dominated by the Uranium Mining industry.
Starblaydia's national animal is the Lion, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the Credit, worth around US$1.5. Starblaydia is active in both the Sport and Military side of NationStates, on the Jolt-hosted forums and those of its Region, Atlantian Oceania.
Geography
With ten provinces, Starblaydia encompasses the territory formerly owned by the Holy Empire of Nemya to its east. A Mountain-City of Dwarves, exiles from the nation of Cockbill Street, also have residence in Starblaydia, in Karak D'Ragh, the City of Quiet Fire.
To the north-west border lies the Loose City-State Association of Nova Britannicus, across the 'Mighty' Bekk lake to the west lies the nation of Druida. Legalese, The Lowland Clans and Pedriana also border the Bekk, creating many 'Bekkside Derbies' which add spice to any sporting occasion between the teams.

Politics
The Protectorate of Starblaydia is ruled by its Lord-Protector, who is currently Tiberius Starblayde. The Lord-Protector has absolute power over the land and its people, and he rules his nation with a select Council of Ministers.

Football

Starblaydia are currently one of the top Under-21 World Cup teams, as well as recently Qualifying for their second World Cup. They were recently defeated 3-4 in the 3rd Atlantian Oceanian Cup of Association Football (AOCAF) by NEWI Cefn Druids, three-time winners. In AOCAF4, however, in Starblaydia itself, we once more met and this time defeated NEWI Cefn Druids 2-1 in the Final. Regional Champions were they! AOCAF5, however, saw Starblaydia out at the Quarter-Final stage to Turori, while AOCAF6 saw them defeated 2-0 by Hosts Vilita, who won their first ever Regional Footballing Title, only to go on and win their first World Cup
They were ranked 21st in the World after their Quarter-Final exit to Melmond in the 17th World Cup. They also qualified for the World Cup 18 Finals, but went out at the Group Stage by just a single goal on goal-difference to Iansisle, huge sporting rivals in more than one sport.. The Starblaydia Footballing Under-21s are one of the better teams in the world, having been placed Third in three seperate occasions in the tournament hosted perennially by Total n Utter Insanity.
Starblaydia won the hosting bid for World Cup 20 with Druida, though failed to make it past the Second Round of the Finals after a defeat by Bedistan in Extra Time. This, however, placed them on the World Cup Committee, letting Starblaydi cast a vote to decide who gets to host the Cup each time. Starblaydia has also co-hosted the Pre-World Cup Baptism of Fire on two consecutive occasions with Vilita, along with AOCAF4.
The Starblaydi Football League contains three divisions (Alpha, Beta and Gamma), which incorporate 21 teams in total from Starblaydia and Nova Britannicus. Current Champions are Iskara Daii, who won a Regional Invitational Tournament, as well as getting to the Knock-out stages of the Melmond Invitational.
Ice Hockey
The Starblaydia 'Rayzors' Ice Hockey Team won the 5th Cherry Cup which was their debut tournament, they also won the 8th Cherry Cup with a team completely made up of Dwarves, becoming the first team to win the Cherry Cup twice. On both occasions they beat Tanah Burung in the Final, and a 7-0 victory over Kalaallit Nunaat in the Semi-Finals of Cherry Cup 8 resulting in the banning of Dwarven races (and any male or female under 5' and 4'6" respectively) from the Inuit nation.
The National Ice Hockey Incorporated League (NIHIL) contains two Divisions, East and West, each containing 7 teams. The Starblaydi Dwarven League (SDL), however, is a far more popular Ice Hockey League, as Dwarves can overcome their natural... 'physicality' to become much more graceful on the ice.
Rugby Union
Starblaydia are also one of the top Rugby Union sides in the world, having competed in the 2nd and 3rd Rugby_Union_World_Cups, finishing 4th and 3rd respectively. They also hosted RWC2, having taken over from Aust at the 11th hour.
Motor Sport
Many forms of Motor Racing are contested in Starblaydia, from Formula 1-style to Rallying, classic car races and all sorts of other categories.
Military
As far as military goes, Starblaydia are the current President-Nation of AORDO and take an active role in that Organisation.
Starblaydia maintains a current/near future Military, and spend over a quarter of their GDP on the military, with another quarter on Law and Order
The Venators are the Starblaydi Special Forces, and are occasionally called into action (moreso than any other arm of the Starblaydi Armed Forces, at least)
Puppets
Nova Britannicus is Starblaydia's only active puppet, Chicken Tikkastan having long been demolished.
