Politics and government of the UKIN

The Storting of Nieland (Nielandic Nylensk Stórtinget) was the supreme legislature of the sovereign Kingdom of Nieland. In 1986, the Storting once more became the legislature of Nieland, albeit of a devolved autonomous region rather than an independent sovereign state.

History

The Storting or Great Assembly (Nie. stór great + þing assembly) arose from the unification of the earldoms and petty kingdoms established by Viking colonists to the Lethean Islands between the ninth and eleventh centuries.
