The Storting of Nieland (Nielandic Stórþingi Nýland) was the supreme legislature of the sovereign Kingdom of Nieland. In 1986, the Storting once more became the legislature of Nieland, albeit of a devolved autonomous region rather than an independent sovereign state.
History
The Storting or Great Assembly (Nie. stór great + þing assembly) arose from the unification of the earldoms and petty kingdoms established by Viking colonists to the Lethean Islands between the ninth and eleventh centuries.
