The Federated Kingdom of Ness Snorlaxia—which is commonly called Ness Snorlaxia or Nessia—is a federal constitutional monarchy of thirty states, two free cities, two grand duchies, and one overseas city, located primarily in the south-central part of the region of Hyrule.
Ness Snorlaxia has land borders with Kritschboilek, ReddyLand and Rhoderia, and territorial water boundries with Tri-Hylians and Rhoderia. It is also bordered by the Gulf of Hylia to the south and the Spearhead Sea to the east. The thity states and the two free cities of Fourside and Onett are all located within the region of Hyrule. The two grand duchies, of Lycia City (in Q102) and Zalaegerszeg (in Texas), are both located in different regions. Jakobstad, the only overseas city, is located in Aberdeen.
The legendary founding date of Ness Snorlaxia is 3200 B.C., when the semi-legendary Kaxue I unified the many tribes that lived in the area. More recent stuides have discovered that Ness Snorlaxia was founded about 100 to 400 years after that date. During the 18th and 19th century, the semi-ancient structures were replaced with more more modern and democratic institutions, and the nation went through a new era of changes, mainly through rapid industrialization and the introduction of liberalism. By the 20th century, Ness Snorlaxia emerged as a rather strong, free nation.

Geography
Topography
Ness Snorlaxia is located in south-central Hyrule. It consists of a mainland portion, along with the Grapefruit and Tangerine Islands located in the southeast. The terrain consists mostly of costal, lowland terrain along the coast and hilly interior. However, there are really tall mountains known as the Ness Mountains, located along the coastline. Ness Snorlaxia has a nautical border with Tri-Hylians.
The Kara forest, located in the northeast, is the largest forest in the country. It is protected by law, although other forests aren't, which was just recently repealed to help the growth of the economy. The Doko Doko Desert, located in the south, is the only desert in the country. Very small amounts of oil have been found, and so the primary industry there is tourism, as people go over there to see the desert and its tourist traps.
A vast amount of Ness Snorlaxia is urbanized, with many states having over 30 million people. The largest of the cities is Fourside, one of the capitals, which has since grown to include most of its neighbouring area.

Environmental problems
- A few major cities allow the burning of trash for energy production. Although this does solve power problems, it creates large amounts of pollution.
- Nuclear power plants that have been built contribute to radioactive contamination of an area. Even though the trash-burning power plants have lowered the amount of power plants needed, they have its own problem (see above).
- The logging industry is becoming a major industry at the expense of the environment. This is being done because of the need to improve the economy of the country.

|
Government
</div>Ness Snorlaxia is a constitutional monarchy with the head of state being Hurchxuu VI. The current prime minister is Christina Noyarita, elected in 1997. The government is made up of three branches: exceutive, legislative, and judicial.
In Ness Snorlaxia, the monarch preforms the opening of the parliament and makes the Speech from the Throne every January 20th.
Executive
The exceutive branch is made up of the emperor, the prime minister, and his or her cabinet.
Emperor
- Hurchxuu VI of Ness Snorlaxia (1985-present)
Prime Minister's Cabinet
- Christina Noyarita (1997-present)
- Laura Kallio - Minister of Foreign Affairs
- Matti Zheniut - Minister of Domestic Affairs
- Leonard Sanders - Minister of Defense
- Benjamin Fry - UN Representative for Ness Snorlaxia and Hyrule
- Jayson Leonard - Minister of Finance
- Miklos Szefherar - Head of the Snorlaxi Intelligence Agency
- Yoshi Miyamoto - Minister of Education
- George Berry-Stephenopolous - Minister of Police
- Tori Smithson - Minister of Health
- Robert McGoomba - Minister of Sports
- Adlai Stephen-Mercury - Chief Justice of the Supreme Court
- Saaria Mieutten - President of Goomba Airlines
Legislative - Parliament
The parliament consists of three components: the soverign, the senate, and house of commons.
Soverign
The Soverign consists of the emperor, who has to appoint members to the senate and make the Speech from the Throne outlining the goals of the country for the year. Other than this, however, the duties of the emperor are ceremonial.
Senate
The Ness Snorlaxian senate is the upper house. In this house, all of the members are appointed by the emperor. Each state and free city is entitled to five senators, meaning that there are currently 160 seats in the senate.
To become a senator, one must be thirty years old and own land in the state or free city he or she represents. Senators hold office for life or until they resign.
In this house, bills that are ratified by the house of commons are sent here to become a law (if it is ratified, of course). However, the senate usually follows the will of the house.
House of Commons
The house of commons is the dominant branch of the parliament. To become a member, all one has to do is be over 14 years old and in a political party. (This, however, prevents independent candidates from running.)
Each member represents an electoral district. There are 30 electoral districts per state (including the smaller ones), which means that there are currently 1,120 seats in parliament. To be elected to the house of commons, one must win the electoral district they represent.
The party that has the most seats is entitled to have the leader become the prime minister of Ness Snorlaxia.
Political Parties
Party | Leader(s) | Description | Seats in the House and Senate |
---|---|---|---|

National Democratic Party | Sheena Fujibayashi | The National Democratic Party (Kansallinen demokraattinen puolue, 全国民主党) is a conservative political party. Its primary principles are a strong national defense, lower taxation, protection of gun rights, smaller government, but it has a liberal stance on freedoms. Christian Heritage Party | Samuel Martel Halonen | The Christian Heritage Party (Kristillinen perinne-puolue, クリスチャンの遺産パーティー) is a political party based on the values of christian democracy and social conservativism. | 3 1 |
Action Movement | Conan Fogal | The Action Movement (Toiminta-liike, 行動の動き) is a progressive political party that wants to abolish the monarchy. It opposes globalization and free trade. | 3 1 |
Other parties | ---- | Many other parties exist in Ness Snorlaxia, but are not represented in Parliament. Some of them make it to the state or city governments. The larger parties include the Martelist Union, Elvish Party, and the Reform Party. | None |
Judicial
The highest branch of Ness Snorlaxia's judicial system is the Supreme Court, which handles all of the national, important cases. The current Chief Justice of the Supreme Court is Adlai Stephen-Mercury.
There are also smaller branches, listed in the order of power:
- State Branch, which handles important cases and disputes of the state. Each state appoints its own judge.
- County / Parish Branch, a smaller version of the State Branch. Each judge is elected by the people.
- Then, all of the cities and towns get their own Town Court. The townships and villages are represented by the Town Courts.
However, free cities are a little different. Each ward in a free city gets a court, regardless of population.
Law
Laws in Ness Snorlaxia are more lax than other countries, due to wide-ranging personal freedoms. An example of this is that the nation does not have any laws dealing with drugs or homosexuality. There are laws, however, and most of them have to do with the protection of the individual. There is no death penalty, the maximum sentence being life in prison.
Examples of punishments for law-breaking:
- Treason / Conspiracy: life in prison
- First Degree murder: minimum 25 years up to life in prison
- Manslaughter: minimum 20 years
- Hit and Run: minimum 6 months, although if victim dies, the charge is elevated to manslaughter
- Break and Enter: minimum 5 days
- Theft: days spent in jail depends on the weight of the item
Transportation and Communications Networks
</div>Highway
Main article: National Trunk Highway System
In Ness Snorlaxia, highways are the most-used form of transportation. The highway system of the nation is called the National Trunk Highway System. Every major city in the country is connected by this system, along with the smaller ones. The countryside is also well-connected, although less so than the cities. The highways have no tolls, except at border crossings, around major cities, and at long bridges.
The highway hierarchy in Ness Snorlaxia is as follows:
- National Trunk - goes through many states and/or bordering nations.
- State Trunk - goes through one state, usually connecting major cities.
- Regional Trunk - connects parts of a particular region, usually in the countryside.
Railway
Main article: Railways of Ness Snorlaxia
Although the railway isn't used as much the highway, it is still important in crossing the country, especially since there are many trains. They serve all major cities and there are tracks that enter neighbouring countries.
There is no government-run railroad, and instead, there are many different ones covering a certain locale. The largest railroad is the Lilycove and Saimaa Railroad which starts at Lilycove, goes through Gold Coast, Noretta, Ylojivari, Viipuri, Lekkiasema, Porvoo, Saimaa, and ends at the city of Kokiri in Tri-Hylians.
Airways
Most major cities in Ness Snorlaxia have an international airport. The main airline is the government-owned Goomba Airlines, which offers domestic, regional, and international connections.
Television
Main article: Television of Ness Snorlaxia
Television is something that is very dominant in Ness Snorlaxian society, with many people getting news and entertainment from it. There are no government-owned TV broadcasters.
Instead, all networks are linked together by affiliates, which share programming, but also have local programming when there is no shared programming being broadcast. The largest of these is the Victoria Broadcasting System (VBS), based in a small town located in Victoria state. Other major broadcasters include the Tethe'allan Combined Broadcasting Network (TCBN), National Educational Television (NET), and Channel 4 (C4).
Sattelite and cable services are also avaliable. Many of the commerical networks listed above (or their parent companines) own other cable or sattelite channels.
Radio
Main article: Radio of Ness Snorlaxia
Radio is another form of media that is prevelent. There used to be a government-owned radio station, called Fourside National, but it has since been dissolved. Most have changed affiliation to music stations.
In the 1920's, there were three major radio networks: the Victoria Broadcasting System, Tethe'allan Radio Systems, and Radio 32. Although two out of three of these stations still have their radio networks, they have severely reduced in size beginning in the 1950's.
Most radio stations are independent or owned by a larger company (although they can only own 25 stations at one time). The majority of those stations play music or sports news.
Newspaper
Main article: Newspapers of Ness Snorlaxia
Ever since the rise of television and the internet, the newspaper industry has been in decline. The newspaper with the most subscribers is called the Fourside Daily Star.
Economy
Ness Snorlaxia is not an economic powerhouse, unlike its colony Lycia City. Its largest industry is gambling, especially since people of all ages are allowed in casinos. The other two largest industries are book publishing and automobile manufacturing.
It also has a large manufacturing and trout fishing sector, but does not have much of a technology sector. Ness Snorlaxia imports most electronics.
As Ness Snorlaxia is one of the most cultured nations in the region, and the world, there are also many tourists that come to visit the museums, concert halls, and coffee shops. Victoria City and Meltokio lead the tourism industry.
Society
The People
Ness Snorlaxia itself is a mixture of species and different ethnic groups.
Species
Humans, by far, are the largest group of species, with about 2.011 billion of them. The next largest group is the Goomba, which are small, mushroom-like creatures, totaling about 1.404 billion. However, there are un-intelligent Goombas, which are not counted in the total population and live in the wild or are kept as pets
The largest minorty group are elves, totaling 378 million. After that, there many small communities of other species, such as dwarves, Koopa Troopas, and Foxgirls.

Education
General information
Education in Ness Snorlaxia is optional, but most people do go to school, either by choice or because their parents tell them to. Most children go to school between ages 5 and 18. There are public and private schools throughout Ness Snorlaxia, but all school types go through routine inspections to judge how well the school is doing and how well the teachers are treating the children, and any school can be closed by the Education Ministry.
The goal of Ness Snorlaxian education is to have general knowledge of the Earth and the Universe as a whole (mainly learned in elementary and middle school), and to be prepared for other jobs in the future (partly learned in high school, and mainly learned in college).
In Ness Snorlaxia, all education is provided for by the state, although the individual person can donate money to a school.
Pre-school and Primary education
There are no pre-schools funded by the government, and they rely on the payment of the parent to enroll them into the school. Pre-School education usually starts at three years old, and they learn all of the basic things they will need to know before entering kindergarten. If they do exceptionally well, then they could move on to first grade.
At five years old, all children are encouraged, but not required, to go to kindergarten. Kindergarten is usually part of the elementary school and will expand on the learning of pre-school.
After graduating Kindergarten, children move on to the mainstream Elementary School. This kind of school has six grades, and will prepare children for various lessons in the main subjects (social studies, science, language [usually English, Finnish, or Japanese], math, reading, and computer education), which are required, and optional subjects (physical education, art, and music) which the student or parent can enroll their kid in. If a student fails two or more of any required subject, they are required to repeat the grade again or go to summer school, so they can move along with the rest of the class.
Most schools of this type have a lunch break and outdoor (or indoor) recess, usually around noon.
Secondary education
When a child graduates from elementary school, usually at 12 years old, they move on to seventh grade, which is in middle school (also called junior high school). The first year is called bridge class, as it is the bridge to the rest of your life. Depending on the grades you get in the main subjects and primary subjects, those subjects will be ones given the most priority when you get to the next grade.
At ninth grade, the subjects that the student excels in determine what class is taken. There are two types of these; the first one is called Society and Economics, which focuses on economics, social studies, study of native culture, and statistical math. The second one is called Sciences and Technology, which focuses on the study of general math, technology, and various sciences.
However, with both groups, they must take language classes, and can take the optional classes (phys ed, art, and music).
Higher education
After graduating middle school, students move on to high school, which enforces the teachings learned in the previous grade, along with teaching of new things. In twelfth grade, the last grade before moving on to college, students choose a job they want and will learn about it.
After graduating high school, students can move on to college or university, or drop out. College prepares the students for their life career, along with teaching advanced forms of subjects learned since elementary school.
When a student has graduated college, most usually get hired to the job that they chose. After graduation, students can still come back to colleges, for a fee, to learn more.
