Old Church Slavonic is a liturgical language of Eastern Orthodox Christianity, and is usually associated with Orthodox churches with Slavic roots.
It is believed to be one of the two root languages (along with liturgical Greek) upon which Old Church Liturgic, the language of the Holy Monastic Republic of the Archregimancy, is based.
One of the extant texts of the Codex Frosticus, the mysterious document that remains the main source of our knowledge of the mysterious Holy Empire of Alasdair I Frosticus is written in Old Church Slavonic, in the Glagolithic alphabet.
