The North Pacific is one of the game's super regions, known collectively as the Pacifics, and a birth region. It has become the largest region in the world. Many inhabitants believe that it is also the coolest region in the game.

Government(s) Officials

As of mid-January, the North Pacific began operating under the leadership of the North Pacific Directorate. At the Beginning of May, with the handover of the delegacy to Insane Power, this was rebranded as the North Pacific Government. Forming in opposition to the Directorate is the North Pacific Confederation, which though bearing no legal recognition from the delegacy, does represent a core of active nations from the former government; recognized by several present foreign governments:

The North Pacific Directorate

From January to May 2005, the officials of the North Pacific Directorate were:

  • Minister of Cooperation: Insane Power - responsible for foreign affairs and promoting domestic activity .
  • Minister of Liberty: Judessia (a pseudonym of Cathyy) - charged with enforcing the Judicial regulations of the Codex.
  • Minister of Peace: DeutscheDR (a pseudonym of RedCommunist from the region USSR) - commander of the North Pacific Mechanized Infantry.
  • Minister of the Assembly: Poltsamaa(a pseudonym of Tygaland from the region New Sparrow) - administrator of the Regional Assembly.
  • Minister of Truth: Ahimsan Carthage - manager of media affairs and prefect of the North Pacific Centurions.

The North Pacific Directorate also had a Regional Assembly, currently 27 nations, which was charged with upholding and changing The Codex (Laws) of The North Pacific. The Regional Assembly is headed by an elected President and Secretary.

The North Pacific Government

  • Delegate: Pixiedance (controlled by Insane Power)

Currently, elections are underway for Directors in each of the Ministries. The Regional Assembly consists of nations of The North Pacific who make the following oath:

I, [national leader name], leader of the [full nation name], state that I am a resident of The North Pacific and will act in accordance with The North Pacific Government as led by The North Pacific UN Delegate. I request to take the office of Senator of the Regional Assembly and vow to uphold The Codex and work for the betterment of The North Pacific.

The North Pacific Confederation

Independent of the delegate, and in opposition to the North Pacific Directorate (Or North Pacific Government), a constitutional government has also been directly elected by citizens of the North Pacific.

In April 2005 the following ministers took office:

The NPC also has a legislative arm of government formed by a number of Registered Voters, who can vote in elections, propose new laws, serve in juries during trials, and run for office. More information can be found on the NPC forum at this topic

Delegate History

  • Nastic has been delegate of the North Pacific with different nations several times (spring 2003, November/December 2003).
  • Treenudity took over from Nastic around the summer 2003.
  • Wilkshire held the delegacy from 16 February-15 April, 2004
  • On April 21, 2004, Blackshear was unseated ("due to someone tampering with his access to the game") [1]
  • On June 29, 2004, then-delegate UPS Rail declared allegiance to the NPO.
  • On July 28, 2004, The North Pacific was liberated from delegate Great Bight and his ALSO organization.
  • On September 8, 2004, Sydia took the Delegate position.
  • Pixiedance was elected delegate of the North Pacific on 25 October 2004.
  • On 8 January 2005 Pixiedance handed over control of her nation, and hence the delegacy, to Pierconium (Moldavi) of the People's Republic of the Pacific. This new delegate immediately suspended the constitution and declared martial law, booting and banning the nation placed second in the region in endorsements (Better Times, aka Free4All). Later that week, Pierconium restored the nation to Pixiedance's control at her request. The constitution was restored to full effect.
  • On 18th January Pixiedance herself declared a state of emergency and suspended the constitution. She also dissolved the region's alliance with the A.L.L.. No specific reason has, as yet, been given for this move. Two days later, she gave her nation once again to Pierconium/Moldavi.
  • Nearly six months later (please insert more precise date here), Moldavi returned the nation Pixiedance to its original owner Cathyy, who almost immediately passed it on to Insane Power, a high-ranking Directorate member and at that time Minister of Justice (?) in the NPD. In turn, Cathyy received IP's nation Insane Legends to avoid having one player control two UN nations. Insane Power soon had a falling-out with Moldavi, founded a new forum, and named his new cabinet the North Pacific Government (NPG).
  • On 26th of May 2005, history was again written in the North Pacific as Insane Power resigned Pixiedance from the United Nations, leaving TNP without a delegate. That this was a planned and conscious action was indicated by Cathyy resigning Insane Legends (then second in the endorsement ranking) as well, thus creating what can only be termed a power vacuum as the endorsement cap had long prevented any other nation from coming close in endorsements. The day until the next update was marked by vigorous endorsement and undendorsement campaigns, mostly supporting one or the other of the nations Thel DRan and Lungwallabad, who were the most likely successors. Below are the top contenders ranked by endorsement at that time (hours before the update):
lungwallabad 150
thel_dran 149
hersfold 118
novare_res 117
flemingovia 109
fortress_prussia 109
leonardo_da_vinci 105
haor_chall 103

Notably, Insane Power still held the Regional Controls, and used this power to endorse Thel DRan in the World Factbook Entry, as well as ejecting several active contenders, among them Leonardo Da Vinci and Stars of Sky. Mere seconds before the update, he ejected Lungwallabad (then holding the most endorsements), perhaps to ensure a victory of Thel DRan. However, this was too late, and Lung became delegate at the same time. He unbanned himself and cleared the banlist, only ejecting Cathyy and Poltsamaa. This series of events have been called "The WTF of 2005" by most players.
This day, as Lungwallabad became delegate, marked the first time since 25th of October 2004 that a nation other than the by now infamous Pixiedance held the regional delegacy.
  • On the morning after, Stars of Sky gained the delegacy. She had been avoiding the update, held around 250 endorsements, and moved back into the North Pacific. At present (since 0615 GMT on Friday the 27th of May), Stars of Sky is holding the delegacy, and the North Pacific looks to a hopeful, but uncertain future.
