Early in its history, Allanea sponsored an intervention, in the [[First Edolian War]], to support Christian rebels in [[Edolia]] from what the Allaneans perceived as oppression. That spurned an invasion and short, unsuccessful occupation of Allanea by [[Pilot]], an ally of Edolia.  Allanea gained its independence in the [[Second Edolian War]], in which the Allanean government-in-exile fought against Edolia and its allies.  Eventually Edolia was forced to withdraw after the [[Empire of the Eternal Dawn]] and [[Der Angst]] threatened intervention on behalf of Allanea.  Under the terms of the agreement, however, Edolia remained in possession of the Allanean territory of [[Axackal]], which would later play a major role in future Allanean history.
