Overview
The Athenian Drachma is the official Currency of the Athenian Republic of Athens and Midlands. It was introduced in December 2005 to replace the Aber, the currecncy of the former Midlands Republic and the lesser-known Koupon of the former Athenian Federation. The coins are issued centrally, but its banknotes are issued by 3 seperate banks across the country. The three banks are the Athens NationalBank, Corinth KreditBank and Bank of Sparta.
Denominations
Coins
Coins are issued directly by the central government. They are normally minted at West Athens, but the higher denominations are minted at a purpose built facility at Oaka Green. Each coin have its own nickname.
