The Stoklomolvi National Monetary Unit, more commonly known as the Stoklomov, is a form of physical currency used in the Communist Dominion of Stoklomolvi. It is quite similar to the Russian rouble in both design and actual use. Due to the fact that Stoklomolvi keeps the worth of its currency artificially low, most items in Stoklomolvi are actually quite cheap compared to identical products in other countries. Hence, few people in Stoklomolvi are rich due to the low value of the currency.
An electronic form of the Stoklomov is also used, and credit cards have numerous different appearances depending on which location in Stoklomolvi they are used. Each region in Stoklomolvi has a different credit card, though every citizen in Stoklomolvi uses only the stoklomov. All monetary transactions are monitored by the government.
The official ISO symbol for the stoklomov is the STKV.
History
Stoklomolvi once bartered for objects long ago. However, once the people started to settle down, golden stoklomovs were pressed out of pure, real gold before 3000 B.C.E. As such, at the time stoklomovs were worth more than any other currency in the region. However, over time, as the need of more currency increased, less valuable denominations of stoklomovs were created, such as those made out of bronze, copper, iron, and steel. As the currency was worth less and less, so were items made in Stoklomolvi. The lowest point was in 800 C.E., when Neil and Karl Stuyonovich warred each other, using up much currency for weapons.
At this single point, over ten thousand stoklomovs were needed to be equal to one Universal Standard Dollar. Eventually, after the war ended, the value of the stoklomov slowly increased to around one hundred stoklomovs for each USD. After the two world wars and a period of massive industrialisation, the value of the stoklomov increased again, and this time it became equivalent to the amount it is worth today.
Exchange Rate
While traditionally free floating, this currency normally fluctuates around one (1) stoklomov being equivalent to around 0.7-1.0 Universal Standard Dollars ($).
