Pervaya Liga
The Pervaya Liga is the premier division in the ladder of football leagues in the Varangian Confederacy. It is comprised of sixteen teams that play home and away matches against eachother in a thirty game season.
Teams earn three points for every victory, one point for a tie, and zero points in a losing effort. The team which garners the most points at the end of the season earns the highest honor for a club team in the Confederacy, the Tsar's Cup.
The fate of the three teams which earn the least points at the end of the season is much more dire. They are relegated to the next league down on the ladder and the top three point earners in that division are promoted to the Liga.
